Hi
Does anyone know which banks are linked together, I need to open a new bank account before I go on a DMP but I don't want to open one that is linked to any of my creditors (Natwest, Co-op, MBNA, Opus, Santander, Barclaycard)
I'm new to all this so any advice appreciated

Hsbc do a basic bank account or have a look at this pdf list of basic bank accounts
A basic bank would be right for you as I doubt you will able to open another normal bank account0 -
Co-Op / Britannia
Natwest / RBS
Santander / Former Abbey, Alliance+Leicester
Don't think Barclays have any other brands0 -
Co-op Britannia and Smile0

You'll be safe with a basic account with the following major banks;
Lloyds / Bank of Scotland
Halifax
Nationwide
HSBC
..and no doubt a number of building societies.0 -

Lloyds tsb/Bank of scotland
Hsbc/First direct
Co-op/Smile
Hope this helps!Let the sunshine.0 -
Possibly avoid Lloyds TSB as such, because the Co-op is currently negotiating to buy a third of its branches, including the customers. This doesn't affect Halifax and Bank of Scotland.
MBNA is also up for sale, but the buyer is unlikely to be any of the High Street banks, except possibly Barclays."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
