Barclay Card PPI claim - help please

Hi,

I have recently downloaded the PPI questionnaire from the site. It's for my mum and dad to fill in.

They have a joint barclay card account and my dad says they've had it for years and years maybe as many as 30 years.

He received a call from them the other day and he asked whether he his paying PPi and they answered yes, so he mentioned they'll be having a letter coming there way.

is it as simple as just sending the questionnaire in? Should he ask to cancel the PPI immediately as it's something he doesn't need whatsoever.

Also how far back can a claim go if he has had the card 30 years? He isn't sure but he's going to get the exact time period but he's been with Barclays for years and years.

My mm and dad have also had two loans over the years one with Barclays and one with another provider again they are unsure as to whether they had PPI on them two.

Is it worth contacting them two?

How did he not know he was paying it or not? Didnt the premium appearing on each of his statements for the last 30 years not stand out?

Yes in simple complaints. It is worth sending in copies of any proof he has to support his complaint as well.

Chances are there is little or no documentation going back that far. Plus Barclaycard are not one of the ones that are auto-upholding complaints. They go by the documentation unless there is a technical failing (not eligible, no financial need etc)
as it's something he doesn't need whatsoever.

if that is the reason for complaint, then he should include copies of his alternative unemployment cover and details of what other income protection he has (ie. when it starts and when it ends)
