Fiesta, 207, Punto or Clio?

I'd go for the Festa.
Clio - avoid Renault at all costs
Punto - really nasty to drive ime. Fiats are easily the worst cars I've ever driven
207 - I know lots of people who've had 5 & 6 series Pugs and loved them, been ultra reliable, but then bought 7 series and hated them, found they were spending fortunes on them.Clean credit file:12 mthsCar loan: FREE! :jTHE PLAN: 1.Pay off debt £8808.42(£3254.45, £1570.32, £2698.33, £0:dance:, £1000, £285.32) 2.Save monthly for Christmas/insurance etc £150 per month 3.Save for emergencies /£1500 4.Save for our B&B £????depends which one takes our fancy

What's age is your 306, anything wrong with it?
beautiful to look at?!
am i missing something here?! the big fish-mouthed 207? compared to fiesta/clio/mazda3?
i have entered the twilight zone..........0 -
Horses for courses, out of the choices above 207 all the way for me. Don't know about the mechanical side of things though.0

I have a Peugeot 207 1.4 petrol. I have had it for nearly two months after trading in a 10 year old Ka. It's a dream to drive, the steering is light compared to my old car. I struggled to start off with as I did not find it as pokey as my Ka, but now I am getting used to the Pug, it is! The tip is to stay slightly longer in second gear to get a bit of oomph and then change up to third etc. I think it is beautiful to look at too. Its not fish mouthed, its a big smiley face lol0

I think you have to ignore a lot of the sterotyping, there will always be the "german is best" camp, or "stick to Fords".
The Peugeot has lasted us well for years, I've never seen a 106 diesel ragged that much. It's been ultra reliable, cheap to run, and as safe as any car from the era.
As to the previous comment, I'm not quite sure what vw brought to skoda, isn't skoda supposed to be a better car than the vw nowadays? I think the felicia may be in the running despite vw.
I have a favorit years ago, again, it ran forever.0 -

you misunderstand me, i made the point that when vw bought skoda the company improved no end, from a fairly dodgy budget brand to a well known marque of quality-vw still reserve the better interior materials for themselves, but th eimportant bits are shared.
and to the previous post about the 207, its not smiley-its ugly! compared to the 206, it really is a trout!
and peugeot have a 30% failure rate and one of the higest average repair costs for each failure-do your research and you cant go wrong.
a peugeot 106 is an unreliable and unsafe car by modern standards. FACT.0 -
ive had a clio for 4 years now nad have never had any problems.
personally i think you wont go far wrong choosing a cio.

Possibly you need to do a bit of fact finding

Peugeot as a brand now beat VW, BMW, Volvo, Audi, MB, Saab, and Fiat beat them all.
THe 106 as a model, actually beat near enough every other individual car on the list, as does the Clio.
(FACT)
As to safety, I'm sure any modern car would be safer than any older car, but we all have a budget.0
