Parking Eye Query

Got a parking charge notice from PE from parking in a shopping area car park a bit too long.
Hubby's a bit concerned about ignoring it. I wasn't driving but was in the car, can I still write to them and say I wasn't driving (and refuse to state who was).
What I mean is can they still hold me responsible if I was a passenger?
Thanks for any help!

What you do is just ignore them. Don't contact them and don't respond to any correspondence from them. For further reassurance please read all the other threads on here that deal with PE and private parking companies. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Do not write to them, it will only encourage them to send more threat mail. Tell your other half to read the stickies and watch the clip from Watchdog. I have ignored Parking Eye on several occaisions and guess what happended? Nothing.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

Shock horror it's a shopping area which doesn't want customers spending money in all it's various shops, and with the big C coming up needs all the customers it can get. Ignore Parking Eye, the most that the landowner can sue you for is the damages, which in a free car-park is nothing.
Complain to the shops you visitied and say that thanks to Parking Eye you shall no longer be spending your money there.0 -

PE still have yet to take any further action against me - All I've had is a few letters and now eighteen months has passed, their chance to do anything more is long gone. - So IGNORE!

Read all the stickies, watchdog site, various forum posts before I posted, just wanted to know if I could get rid of them by telling them I wasn't the driver. Thanks for your help guys, will ignore them

If you were not driving, it's nothing to do with you.
If YOU receive an invoice, feel free to tell them to take it up with the driver.
You will receive a templated response full of irrelevant legal mumbo jumbo and threats.
So at the end of the day you can either ignore now, or ignore after telling them it's nowt to do with you. Either way they'll send you threatening paper shredder food in some way or another.0
