I've decided that instead of only being able to record my OPs quarterly, I'll record them monthly, but this means I need to change my goal to £5,000 this year. I have an offset mortgage, so recording my actual OPs is too complex for me to do without the bank statement.
I wanted to reduce the mortgage by £15,000 this year, but that sum included all regular payments and the reduced interest because of the offset. I would still like to achieve that goal, but I think it will be more motivational to have a monthly goal that I have more control over.
So for Jan, I'd like to record an OP of £377.48 out of a goal of £5,000.
Thanks!Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)
Jan 2012 - £125,620.02 / 2,913.87 / Nov 2032 (58)
Apr 2012 - £122,901.88 / 3,170.91 / Jul 2032 (58)
Jul 2012 - £122, 589.02 / 3,507.99 / Sept 2032 (58)

Hello!
Long time lurker but only got round to registering today for the forum - mainly because I just made my first overpayment on my mortgage!
Have been in my flat for approaching four years and have finally got to a point where I have built my savings up to a comfortable level and done all the work on the flat I want to (and had some good holidays along the way...!)
So now its all about the overpayments! Started today with £250, which is a level I know I should be able to do every month, if not higher. So initially I'll join in the challenge at £3,000 for 2012 please?
Special hello to the new joiner! Welcome:wave: Off to a great start

Hello - I updated your OP of £200 for the month, but is it your first OP of the year? We have you recorded as having already made an OP of £10000 for the year!I've decided that instead of only being able to record my OPs quarterly, I'll record them monthly, but this means I need to change my goal to £5,000 this year. Thanks Sepa74 - updated for you
Guys together we have almost overpaid £95k for the first month of the year!:T Wish I had contributed to that, but well done everyone :j0 -
Only managed the standard OP of £71.01 so far this month. Bit disappointed, but I have also paid £793 off the CC. Focussing on clearing this before the 0% runs out in March, so at least I've achieved something I guess. Roll on March when the overpaying really starts! :j0
