Loan with Morgan Stanley but underwritten by LVBS?!

I had a loan with Morgan Stanley which I repaid early in Jan 2007. Don't have any of my paperwork but I'm positive I was pressured into taking PPI, pretty much you won't get the loan unless you take PPI.

I wrote to Morgan Stanley (London address) and got a reply from Barclaycard saying they couldn't trace me, even though I currently hold a Barclaycard with them!! They said they needed more info but didn't say what, helpful or what.

I've gone through some paperwork and have found an old Morgan Stanley mastercard statement which has my old card number. Also found my old cheque book with the date and amount that I paid to clear my loan off. My cheque was payable to LVBS which I'm assuming is Liverpool Victoria Banking Services who must have underwritten the loan.

Should I contact LVBS instead for a copy of my original paperwork? Or hassle Barclaycard again and list my previous addresses, old Morgan Stanley card number, my current Barclaycard card number? Don't want to give up as I'm almost 100% that I was diddled!!

Hi and welcome

Whoever set up and sold you the account at the start are the ones you pursue, even if the paperwork is that of the lender, who takes your money.

I would send Barclays copies of any paperwork you have and go from there, not unless you can recall on LV setting you the account up at the start of application.

Failing that, contact the FOS and ask if they could please identify on who was responsible, they will let you know. Good luck.

did you have any luck with that ppi ? my father also has had a loan from morgan stanley, on which he was mis-sold ppi even though he could not claim on it.

he does not have paperwork though but he remembers that halfway through he started paying to LV instead of Morgan stanley. I was thinking of contacting LV.

i was just wondering if you had any luck with you claim and who did you contact? thanks
