There's a youth hostel right by Snowdonia, I've never stayed there but it is cheap

Have you checked out the trip advisor review on Snowdonia for inns and B&B's."Sumptus censum ne superet"

Yeah..whatever :rolleyes:0 -
I've stayed in the youth hostel at Pen y Pass - was okay, but very basic! (although this was a few years ago now)
I haven't been to Snowdonia for a couple of years, but we always used to go to the Bryn Tyrch hotel in Capel Curig - they did brilliant food there.
Have a great time
edit - I'm not sure if you're going for a walking holiday or not - but thought I'd mention that the Snowdon Mountain Railway is open from the middle of march according to their website - takes you from Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon

Mount pleasant B & B in Llanberis is good and welcoming - we together with a group of friends have 'taken it over' for several weekends over the years. Soo much to do up there, and soooo beautiful, Have a great time,

I know a self catering cottage in Betws y Coed for £38 a night - sleeps four, or the B&B attached is 'up to' £35 per person per night.
PM me if interested.
There are some interesting slate mines around Blaneau Ffestiniog to visit and Conwy and Llandudno are lovely to walk around - especially Conwy with the castle lit up at night.
The Llanberis pass is nice too, though only driven through it!
We caught the Welsh Highland Railway up to Raeder (sp?) from Caernaefon which was a lovely trip - it ends 3000ft below the summit of Snowdon, so you can either just walk - or climb up if suitably attired!
Enjoy!
