These phishing mails are just sent out on a random basis, just delete it.

The amount of phishing mails doing the rounds seem to be increasing all the time, I get several a day, ebay, paypal, banks etc, and they are beginning to irritate me.

they must be catching a lot of people out though I bet

some of them are so crude as well - they don't even bother trying to make the email look like it came from a bank/ebay etc
  • I received the same mail and forwarded it to paypal. Its def. a scam. Think is though it did look real untill you load up the web site and the add is different. Its good that you didnt get caught with it as so many have :-) Please correct me if i'm wrong but i think paypal will always address you by your name on any mail they send out.
  • Just forward all suspected spoof mail to spoof@ebay.co.uk

Not sure just how thoroughly Ebay do chase up the scammers but it's all you can do really to let Ebay at least know.
