I am thinking of buying a chest freezer to try and make the most of shop reductions/whoopsies etc more batch cooking etc ( we have an upright fridge freezer so ltd room in the freezer part)
and i was wondering if someone could work out roughly how much this freezer would cost per week to run?
we are on a pre-paid meter..

I was looking at that freezer too. It has poor reviews and is cheaper at Sainsburys with free delivery. http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/appliances/fridges_and_freezers/chest_freezers/114553498_norfrost_c6aew_chest_freezer_white.html?hnav=4294966189:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

That link says 252kWh per year so you just multiply that by your unit rate on your electric bill and you have your annual figure divide it by 52 for weekly.

In addition - the 'power safe storage time' may be important to you - if you for example go away for a day, and come back to find the meter had run out - oops.0

That's about right. Not much to keep leftovers from spoiling. I'm sure you can find 10 pence of savings every day to make it worth it.
thats what i was thinking... and to weigh up the savings on the whoopsies compared to the running cost of the freezer...
I am sure it wouldnt be long before i got the price of the freezer back in savings too.
really appreciate your posts thanks:beer:Work to live= not live to work0
