Just been told 4 people are to be made redundant

Hi

We have just been told that 4 members of staff will need to be made redundant this year and there may be another 3 next year. We have been told that we will need to go through an interview after Christmas and will be points scored on this and if we make it through this year we will have to all go through it again when the next round of redundancies come around.

My question is as a woman will I be treated as a third class citizen and not be entitled to benifits even though I have paid into the pot for years? I do not want to lose my job and the thought of less money coming into the house worries.

Does anyone have any advice.

When it comes to benefts etc women and men are treated exactly the same.
If youve paid the necessary NI payments you will be entitled, same as a man.

What makes you think women are treated as third class citizens.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Maybe the OP means that if she has a working partner she may not be entitled to means-tested Benefits, but this applies to both genders, not just women.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
