PaH Advanced Nutrition Cat Food

Options
Hi

We adopted a 10 year cat 2 weeks ago and he's my little baby already! This is the first time my husband and I have ever had a cat.

I've just been paid and am looking to stock up on dry food and would like to go for a good quality one.

I've been feeding him a senior whiskas pouch on a night, which he loves and then I leave out a bowl of dry food for him to eat the rest of the time, which I top up throughout the day.

I've been putting a mix in his bowl of the Hills he was sent home with, Go-Cat Senior and over the last week, James Wellbeloved Senior as well.

I noticed Pets at Home do an Advanced Nutrition range which is 2 for £15 and looks quite good. I was wondering what everyone's opinions were?

Thanks for any advice you can give x

Congratulations on your new puss :j

It looks OK as a food. My cats didn't like it, though, so I can't offer any pratical feedback. Don't let that put you off, though, as my 5 cats will only really eat Royal Canin dry, and a bit of JWB for a change now and again.

Perhaps you could buy a smaller package before committing yourself to a £15 purchase and see if puss likes it? It is something you quickly learn a s a cat owner - many a penny wasted on decent foods that are inexplicably rejected by the cat :rotfl:

When introducing a new food, please bear in mind that you should mix ever-increasing amounts of the new food with their old food, not just whack a new bowl of food down - it helps them to adjust.
  • Congratulations on your new arrival!:D It's amazing how quickly they sneak into your heart and you feel like they've always been there.

I'm afraid I shared Friday's experience .... neither of mine would touch it! (but they are known for their fussiness which a recent rescue [STRIKE]shouldn't[/STRIKE] hopefully won't share).

I had bought a big bag (miles from PAH so seemed silly to go for a small one thinking positively that they'd eat it!) but PAH offer a money back guarantee if your cats won't eat it (it had very recently been launched).

Might be worth checking if they still do this & keep your receipt if so .... just in case!:D

Mine both love Royal Canin and I have now decided to stick to this as I know they'll eat it without problem.

PAH often do offers on it - 4kg = £28 but I got BOGOF a few weeks ago which makes it a much more reasonable cost. Seems a lot but it will last for ages and actually works out cheaper (when on offers like this) than many poorer quality foods.

  • Thanks for your replies.

I popped out to PaH and have picked up a small bag of the senior chicken and a small bag of the adult fish flavour(they don't do small one's in the fishy senior) to see how he gets on with them.

Luckily we've got 2 stores close by so I can soon pop in.

    Thanks again
