Can I take a Christmas Pudding and mincemeat to New York??

I'm flying into JFK in a couple of weeks' time, to spend Christmas with DD and family.

I know that there are certain foods that are "banned" in various countries, and I'm trying to find out whether I can take with me a traditional Christmas Pudding and a jar of minceat????

Obviously both will be packed in case (and very well wrapped and sealed in plastic bag!!) - but I don't want to cart the blessed things halfway round the world to have them dumped at the airport!

There must be a website that tells me what is allowed and what isn't but for the life of me, I can't find it!

Help will be appreciated xx

I have a similar requirement albeit different foods and I'm travelling East, so any sources for information would be appreciated here as well.

There shouldn't be a problem with this as it mostly covers meat and dairy products. Do declare them on entry though.

If you take them make sure you declare them.

Also in my experience, Americans dont know what mincemeat is - they will think its beef. So watch how you describe it!
