Can my JSA be stopped for this?

  • The advisors at my JobCentre never even look at the comprehensive notes I take of my jobseeking efforts, so I doubt anyone will be looking back at his form to see whether he declared a past interview or not. They will just be happy that he's signing off for a while.

I don't know if it's different with some people but I'm often reading about people's worries of this sort of thing, but when I was on JSA the JC hadn't a clue what I was doing by way of job searching. I wrote enough down on the sheet which they glanced at and signed each fortnight but really they had no clue. Do others really get the third degree?

They look at my list of applications, note one or two on the system and sign it off at the bottom.

Then she asks me the same question 'where else other than the net do you look, do you use the newspapers' so I reply the names of 3 local papers, the metro, the evening standard and she can't even keep up typing them on the system.

When you do a lot week in week out they are not really interested as it is far too much work for them. I fill in one of those job search booklets (sometimes 1 1/2) every two weeks and they do not look at all the jobs on there.
