Can my JSA be stopped for this?

Could someone lose their JSA for not telling the jobcentre about an interview even though they weren't offered the job afterwards?
I'm not sure what the answer might be myself, as I always tell them if I have an interview and am asking on behalf of someone else.

No you don't need to mention everything just mention the minimum of what is required.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

What is the minimum required? I am under the impression that you would need to tell the jobcentre if you are offered a job and then turned it down for whatever reason, but not sure whether you MUST tell them if you have an interview.
He has been offered a temporary position with a store that he was originally turned down for earlier in the year but where they kept his details on file, and have now offered him a Christmas position. He is worried that the jobcentre might ask why he didn't tell them about the original interview as this has come about from them keeping his details on file, and he thinks they will want to know when the original interview actually was?0 -
He is due to go to the shop on Monday to sign contract and then on to the jobcentre with the paperwork afterwards to sort everything out. Hopefully a permanent job might come from it afterwards, but wants to know if he will be sanctioned if and when he does need to do a new claim once the contract ends for not telling them about the original interview.0

No need to mention everything. The minimum required is stated on the form. It's usually to take at least 3 steps per week to find work. They like to see a few applications in that list to make it appear that you are putting in some effort. He is due to go to the shop on Monday to sign contract and then on to the jobcentre with the paperwork afterwards to sort everything out. When I was claiming I was applying for between 20-50 jobs per week using the internet and emailing CV's in bulk. I did not mention them all I only mentioned the ones I wanted to mention.:footie:

I noticed I put 'my' in the title, but it isn't a question relating to myself, I just don't know how to amend the title

They might ask....... will he get into trouble? Anyone know the answer?
I got my own job as a result of an interview I attended before going onto JSA, where they had kept my details on file, so I didn't have any problems when I informed the Jobcentre, but they did ask when the original interview was.0 -
On my job seekers agreement you agree to job searches. I keep a full log of all the jobs I apply to: The date, where it was advertised, the job title, who it was advertised with (ie an agency or direct company) and the date (always the same day) when I submitted the application. There is nothing on the job seekers agreement to say you have to tell them about interviews. Obviously if you are listing jobs down that you have applied for they could ask you if you have had any interviews but for the last 6 mths no one has asked me that but I have kept a list of the interviews I have atteneded but they are all jobs I found myself and none were advertised at Job Seekers Direct.
If you had an interview and where never offered the job then you have nothing to hide and haven't done anything wrong, so do not worry.0 -
Sorry, HappyMJ - our posts crossed, mine should be before yours. Now it looks like a panicky post! lol :eek:0

As quoted by LadyMissA:

That's a question he'll have to answer himself then, lets hope he put it in his book that he had applied.
thank you all

Don't worry - he won't be in any trouble. The notes they keep aren't comprehensive enough to identify a minor discrepancy and even if they were, you are not required to notify every single step. They'll be pleased to sign someone off, they won't ask any more questions other than when the job starts and who it's with.0
