I first heard about Kindle 99p daily deals 5 days ago - & I've bought 2 of the 5 books that have been on since then. It seems to be a real mixture of novels & factual books & both the ones I bought are usually much more expensive. Really worth checking each day.

You can buy disks full of thousands of kindle books on ebay. The auctions usually list them as legal under the creative commons license - I don't know whether this is true or not, though, as the disks contain tons of modern books by big-name publishers. A friend at work bought a couple and loaned them to me, and I'll never have to buy another book again.

How do you load them onto your kindle if you aren't buying through amazon?

You connect your kindle to your computer with the USB cable and then copy and paste the books into the documents folder on the kindle.

There are always FREE non public domain books available on Amazon. I get a daily email with the latest listings and now I don't seem to buy any for real money very often!
