According to the Daily Telegraph today, BG will now have only two tariffs available for customers.

Wonder how this will affect online account holders? I guess we'll all pay more:mad:

  • Yes of course we will I am on Websaver 11 gives me 6% discount, the best I can get now is 4%.
  • Rather curious quote from managing director Mr Bentley. He said that "the company had to charge "honest customers" more to fund the cheaper offers."
    So people who sought out the best deals are presumably "dishonest".:)

    No wonder this company is such a shambles.:A

    This will not affect customers who are already in a fixed term tariff-those tariffs will continue to term.

    Methinks maybe time to switch, but I do like the "pay for what you use" idea with Energy Smart. Don't think anyone else offers this facility.

    Apparently BG claim that their customers are telling them that they don't want cheaper tariffs but for it to be just more simplified.
    How about simplified and cheaper then BG?

    Discount = miscount.
    BG also offer a summer discount on boiler installs, a discount for trading in your old boiler, a discount on the insurance and so on. But despite all those discounts, they still are much more expensive for exactly the same job than most other companies.

    Discounts mean nothing, the only thing that counts is how much your TOTAL bill is at the end of the year.

    As BG have a long history of lying and cheating, it is likely that you will be paying more than you have to.

    The whole country pays that way for domestic gas use; the more kiloWatts you use, the higher your bill.

    I know that:mad: But Energy Smart tariffs allow you to send in meter readings and receive a bill for exactly what you have used for that month by variable DD. I don't like the fixed DD's where a surplus stays in BG's bank instead of mine!

    Other companies do it. Search for monthly varable direct debit tarriffs in comparison sites. They were coming up the cheapest of all, but far too much small print for me to even think about switching to one.

    I really don't understand why your moaning. You say you use energysmart so therefore your couldn't have been on a websaver tariff (which has now been pulled.) you would have been on something like Onlinesaver 5 ??? so you will still get your 4% discount as before.
