Please can anyone advise or does anyone know of a instant access account that lets you deposit over the counter - that also lets you do transfers online
I am starting small so no min opening deposit would be ideal.
Many thanks in advance.

Loads of accounts out there with a minimum deposit of £1. Aim for a rate above 2.75%.
As for depositing over the counter, why not just pay in to your current account and send a Faster Payment on to the savings account?0 -

You get 0.75% on smaller balances.http://www.tescobank.com/personal/finance/savings/savingsaccounts/instantaccess/index.html

Halifax do an account that pays 2% where you can deposit over the counter. More in an ISA.

Personally, I think my suggestion in the post above makes more sense.0 -
Halifax also charge a fee for their accounts - closed one for that reason .I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

I've had and still have lots of accounts with Halifax. They've never charged me for any of them....0

The 'Reward' current account and Savings accounts are fee-free - I've just setup a 'Reward' account and whilst they advise you to pay in 1K per month to get £5 back, its not a requirement and you will not be charged if you don't. I've coupled this with an Online saver for 2.8%, but the Everyday Saver gives branch access for a lower 2% interest.
Why not just deposit the funds into a current account in a branch and then transfer them to the savings account online?0
