QE to boost house prices.

The Bank is currently engaged in a £275bn programme of UK government debt purchases - something that is expected to come to an end in February next year.

It is designed to put more cash into the UK financial system, to reduce long-term borrowing costs, and to push up the value of assets such as shares and house prices.

Thanks for that Captain Obvious. However, just because it's designed to do something, doesn't mean that it will actually succeed.

supply and demand, eh, H, that's all there is. well, that and printing the odd hundred billion quid or so every now & then.

anyway, they're doing a very fine job and, who knows, might be able to get average house prices back up to peak sometime within, oh, what, the next decade or so, do you reckon? maybe even 10y-o-10y positive if they really let it rip?

BTW the journo hugely intreprets both the intended and actual effect on house prices.

the main effect is in London, really. of this round of £75bn a fairly shocking amount will 'stick to the sides' of the system, and subsequently drain down straight into bankers' pockets.
    FACT.

More QE means more inflation. High inflation is draining the public purse putting downward pressure on house prices.

You're going to look like a right twit when inflation falls over the next few months. :D

Just because you are hurting doesn't mean others are nor that all differing opinions to your stance should be banned. Grow up and grow a pair.
