Hi, I hope you don't mind me joining in.... Your dress looks great! I love the belt you added. I used to sew a lot of my own clothes, but fabric has gotten so ridiculously expensive it's hardly worth it any more.... very discouraging. I love sewing and miss making things. I have thought of refashioning clothes from the thrift stores, that way I can get better fabrics for a fraction of the price of new fabric. Plus the fun of making something unique. If you are going to do a lot of sewing, I think you will find a dressform useful. I finally found a dressform(dummy) on E -bay and I use it constantly. Its very helpful for refashioning.0

I am looking for a dress makers dummy, however they are so expensive and money is TIGHT at the moment! I think for everyone really. So I am just trying to do the best I can with the resources I have!
To put a photo on the forum, when you are replying, there is a little symbol at the top of the box, that looks like mountains set against a yellow sky. If you put your pointer over it, it says- Insert image.
You need to have your photo hosted somewhere, either on a blog, or your facebook account works too if you have one!
You need to insert the URL of the image in to the box that pops up. For those who aren't very tech savvy, to get the URL, go to your image on the internet , right click your photo, select- VIEW IMAGE INFORMATION, an information box should appear, there will be a section that says : LOCATION, the url should follow this. Usually starts with HTTP://
Hope this helps

Hi, sb88 I found my dress form on E-bay. It was just the torso, (no stand) so I got it for a good price. My dh made a stand for it out of a piece of conduit and an old wheelbarrow rim and tire he had out in the barn. Its heavy enough that it doesn't tip over, but light enough to move into a corner when I'm not using it. I looked up your photos and blog for a peek, you do very nice work! I've bookmarked it for reading latter.0

I got the fabric (Laura Ashley) for my downstairs toilet and utility room blinds from a charity shop for 50p. In total it cost me £5 to make them as I reused some of Mil's stuff from her old blinds. I looked them up on the LA website and they would have cost £198.97 to buy ready made. They wouldn't have had all the rawl plugs in that price I wouldn't imagine. It's very satisfying being able to look at a piece of fabric and not let it beat youDebt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0
