Hello ....

I would like to apply for a new Credit Card but I am unsure which company is best to go with that is where I'm hoping your knowledge will help me.

My situation is as follows.....

23years old
Full Time Employed
Salary is £27000 + Bonus (32000 per year)
1 search in the last 12months (Capital One)
Prev credit cards/store cards settled within last 14months
Live with parents

(I did apply for a Capital One progress but they cancelled my app as I already hold an account with them - Their search has not been added to my credit file yet)

I check my Credit Report monthly and all is green.

What do you think?

    Many to choose from.

Why not open another bank account and get a credit card with them ? (TSB Advance) Credit Card is good, low APR or HSBC Credit Card.
    HSBC (Main A/C)
    Halifax Back up A/C
    Lloyds (Spending) A/C
    RBS Back up A/C
    Barclays Old A/C
    Nationwide Old A/C

With any finanical product you need to establish your goals.

i.e. is it for cashback, building credit history, 0% on purchases, 0% balance transfer, rewards (tesco clubcard, nectar) etc?
  • I wont open another bank account - its not worth it as normally they expect you to pay your salary into that account.

I mainly want it for purchases such as a vacation. I normally pay off in full to be fair. thanks

Try your own bank for a card, if you are not fussed about rewards, cashback etc
Debt free and staying that way!

You do realise that the Lloyds TSB Advance card has no interest free period on purchases? That means that after the 0% for 6 months, even if you clear your balance in full you will be charged interest. It's a hideous credit card.
