I would definitely agree with Armchair 23 and others using Aqueous cream with muslin cloths, which I also buy from baby supplies shops.I think also that it is the cloth which is the real'secret'.
I add lavender and rose geranium essential oil to the aqueous cream, however,as I feel they have a good therapeutic effect on the skin and make applying it a more pampering experience, especially if you have an attractive jar to store it in:D Makes you feel you're not missing out on a bit of luxury.
I use 5 drops of essential oil to every 50ml aqueous cream.HTH.We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.Oscar Wilde xxx:A0 -
I had always wanted to try the Liz Earl c&p, but never got round to it. I've always been a bit lazy about taking make up off and cleaning my face.
A few weeks ago I started reading the Salli Hughes column in the Guardian on saturdays. I generally read it on line. she deals with a different beauty topic each week, well worth a look.
anyhow, she did a bit about hot cloth cleansing, and said any old cleansing lotion would do and a nice hot flannel. I have been doing it ever since and have seen a real improvement in my skin.
At the mo I am using a Bodyshop cleansing lotion. The flannels I use are the Ikea ones that come in a bundle of ten. Just rough enough to exfoliate nicely!
All the columns she has done are available on line, some good stuff if like me you are a make up addict!0 -

Thank you for this. I was once told by a lady who worked with essentail oils that lavender and rose geranium where good for the skin, and that frankinsense is good for anti aging. Never thought to mix it into aqueous cream!0 -

Used C&P for years and jumped at the chance when I saw a cheaper version - Superdrugs Hot Cloth, £3. Slightly to perfumed at first but getting used to it. Feels nice and seeing it's on offer the range I got the day cream - looking good. Will stock up during the week.
