If anyone shops in Asda, just though I'd give you a heads up. I was in there this morning and they had some good offers on their own make "lock & lock" boxes.
I got a large 4 litre box with 5 smaller ones inside (1 medium rectangle, 1 small rectangle, 2 small square, 1 small round) for £4 :D

    Hello Everyone :)

Well the end is nigh. I should just buy a tent to wear now and be done with it, as our dear friends have brought DH a deep fat fryer for his birthday. Along with mars bars, curly wurlys and batter mix.

I have a stubborn Taurean DH and two mardy Capricorn sons. I'm the Ratty Virgo in this house.

mardatha I hope you are feeling better today. Add me to those interested in Tuberose, sweet pea and jasmine, and I wonder if you have anything violet scented. It's my favourite scent and I can't get it for love or money now I've stopped buying Lush products. No rush for anything however :)

Penny-Pincher well done on the ebay sales

fuddle and grandma247 I agree with it feeling like Autumm. It is so cold and damp here, although the weeds seem to be loving the weather.

Softstuff It's great to have you back posting and I'm glad you are feeling better :)

I am feeling shattered again today and DS1 is waking up feeling as tired as I am, so I'm wondering if it's a bug that is going around. I'm going to get some Vit B12 the next chance I get and dose us up with that in the hopes it helps.
I've managed to get DH out of bed this morning even if he wanted to sleep off his red wine induced hangover. The 4 bags of stuff for the charity shop is gone and I got some bargains in the co-op. I only went in for a pack of ham, but it worked out better value to buy a gammon joint for £5 and get 4 times the amount for £3 more than a pack of not very good ham. Then I raided the reduced section. I got 3 packs of 12 bread rolls for 34p a pack, a tiger loaf for 49p, crumpets for 23p, oven bottom muffins for 34p and two packs of rhubarb for 75p a pack. I can see more rhubarb bakewell in my near future.

Now I had better feed DH before work calls and sends him out.

    Take care everyone xxx

The canal boats moved very slowly so would not be suited to "just in time" logistics. But JIT depends on fuel costs remaining relatively low. There will have to be a rethink with peak oil upon us. Canals would lend themselves very well to solar powered boats given that they have a relatively large flat topside.

By the early 19th century, there was actually a very good, well maintained network of post roads built privately and paid for by tolls. When the railways came and there was a massive railway boom by the 1840s, the roads fell into a state of disrepair in many areas because toll revenue fell away. Well we all know how that turned out in the end. It would be interesting if there were to be another turnaround in fortunes for canals
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Nicepeach that sounds like an interesting evening, I would love to see a swarm being caught.
Anguk we are both Leo's too, sometimes think the only person who can cope with the massive ego (yes I admit it :o ) of a Leo is another Leo or an extremely laid back sign - I presume there is one?

Am wandering round with my pinny over my pj's and keep cleaning bits of the kitchen as I wander through, not to bad so far, done mountain of pots and cleaned the outside of the slow cooker :j The tiles the landlord put up ( huge housing company not private) seem to be rough not smooth - now theres a design fault if you want one -they do not really scrub successfully  so thats my job today, tried HM orange cleaner, stardrops now I think it will just be elbow grease.

Its freezing here and cloudy so staying put, hope eveyone is ok today

6C here ginny and rain on and off. But star signs arent all typical are they? You get huge variations - my youngest son is a real typical Cap, workaholic, achiever, into status etc. I'm nothing like that :D
Mary thats really interesting re solar powered barges, very true because of the flat roofs. I love the idea that everything does one day turn full circle, think that's very true. Look how many things in our lifetimes have turned full circle, like country living-city centre living-suburbs-country again .. And yes one day sooner or later the oil will cost so much that anybody with half a brain will find alternatives.

Bobby, you will be even more excited whne you receive the parcel, Mardy is very talented and the wrapping is something to behold. Just keep looking at mine, as I haven't unwrapped them yet...:)

NicePeach, loved your post, and totally agree about negative people. I know we all have our moments, but when people permanently crush you it's time to leave them behind. Since my trauma with ex, I only want to be around people I like and who like me. :)

Mrs C, line those chickens up and and see hwo cracks first...:rotfl:

PP, well done on the a£ay sales.

I think I feel somewhat better, but that's when I'm lying in bed, as soon as I get up I feel like I'm walking through soup. Time for another horse pill.

DD's home on Sunday, can't wait. Well, she's not home home but will be in the UK.:T Hope she has/had a wonderful time.

We have got a window pecker! A little bluetit has been hurling itself at our window for the last hour. I can confirm its not looking for insects or putty. I think it can either see a reflection, or thinks it should be able to fly through, when I close the curtains it goes away. I got some pics -

lol Mrs, that is one determined little bird wanting to get in. We've had a nut feeder attached to our window for ages and hardy ever touched. Lucky Mrs Chip's house (although a bit of window cleaning might be in order now) ;)

With the lack of sun it's a flaming miracle that that wee birdy can see a reflection. Your windaes must be very clean and shiny. Unlike mine. I'd keep the curtains closed so it doesn't exhaust itself hurling against the pane and trying to see off a non-existent rival instead of feeding its little self or its tiny babies. Aren't bluetits the sweetest little birdies? I'd have a feeder so I could watch them if I didn't have a cruel and ruthless slaughterer in my midst.
