Winchelsea, glad you're okish; I don't like funny turns. What's ROSSPA?0

Winchelsea (((Hug))) hope you are okay now. How beautiful about the buzzards. It nearly made me cry (not a good idea - I am at work [STRIKE]skiving[/STRIKE] between jobs right now
)
I am another fan of AF cake mix. I have the carrot cake mix too, apparently the ginger cake is really good but sells out quick. I also buy the pizza mix and bap mix (as I can't eat too much of this stuff it's easier to make mix for OH). I have got lots of it at the moment because AF sent too much by mistake and let me keep it!0 -
Decorating is done. carpet will be laid this morning. Will then tackle contents of wardrobes. Energy/physical well being on low gas now. went to bed at half 7  last night cos too uncomfortable to sit! It's a bu88er when the aches and pains win!
On a good note, whilst raking through the 25 years of clutter I did come upon a couple of gems.
Letters from a French boy whom I met on school trip aged 14. So innocent these letters, all about schools and family. Found one where he invited me to his home in Paris for Christmas. I can remember knowing that financially a Paris trip was out of the question for my parents. It's only now, reading them, that it occurs to me how horrified they must have been at the thought of sending me off to stay in a foreign country with a family they had not met! At the time I remember thinking how glamorous it would be! :rotfl:
Letters from a boyfriend (again met on holiday) when I was in my early twenties. He lived in London (again, far more glamorous than Newcastle) and I was far more in love with him than he with me! Dazzled by his sophistication I think!
Thing that have not been thought about for years..seem they happened to another person in another life.
What a lovely talethis brought a smile to my face:) I think we can safely say you are most definitely a holiday romantic :rotfl:
Winchelsea I am glad you are home safe and sound and glad your family have helped you out.
I slept in til 10am this morning  I kept waking through the night but couldn't get up this morning. I then spent most of the day laid in bed watching DVDs :eek:
When I have had a bad back before I always pushed myself through the pain and carried on but now I know I have serious damage to my back the pain seems so much worse and I am so nervous of pushing my limits so toying with the idea some of it is in my head. I am going to have to get a prescription season ticket as none of the drugs work and they keep on giving me different tablets to try. I feel such a lazy mess at the moment and giving up smoking and not exercising is just piling the weight on
I just feel like I am putting on everyone else while I am a lazy moo
On a lighter note I had a well travelled cathis name was prozac as you have to have prozac in the house to live with me. I lost him last year at the age of nearly 17.
When DH and I met we would spend some time at my house but most of the time at his house and the cat would come with me which ever house I was in. He never in his life went in a pet carrier and would sit in the car quite happily.
Sometimes DH and I would have a fall out and I would ring a cab and go home taking my cat with me. The cab drivers face would be a picture as the cat would walk down the drive and hop into the car. DH had to take him to the vet one day as I had to work and he came back and announced old Prozac loved the car wash :rotfl::rotfl: nothing fazed him he was one in a million.
The kittens who are now 8 months old hate cars. I have driven two to the end of the drive way but they really don't like it so pet carriers for them it is. I again I ask you why would my neighbours think I'm mad :rotfl::rotfl:
The foster cats are looking a lot better and a lot healthierstill a little timid but I am sure when they get a good home and settle in they will be even better. There are very few people adopting cats at the moment as I suppose nobody has any money to take on extra responsibility.

George travels in first-class - he has free range of the back of the car (seats down) with a quilt nicely plumped up for him to sit on. Poor old chap needs a litter tray for the journey too, and in fact we rarely get to the end of the road before he leaves us a little 'present' :rotfl:.
We got him from Cats Protection in Dec 1998, and they said then he was 4 - I don't think he was, but he was an adult cat, so he's not doing too badly!
We would love more cats, and a dog (and chickens, pigs and donkeys :rotfl:), but can't while we have him, he's too old to adapt. It is such a shame that people are not taking in animals due to cost, pets are great companions and like for some is poorer without them. What are things coming too?
Winchelsea - hope you are feeling better now!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -

About buzzards - at my DH's funeral last month, while we were in the chapel (which has a whole wall of glass looking out over a pretty valley) two buzzards appeared and were soaring around together. So beautiful - DH would have loved it!
Anyone else read Angina as something else!Glad you are on the mend!
Is the chapel in COrnwall? Only ask because I went to a funeral of a friend's sister in Cornwall last winter with the exact same window you describe - apparently in the summer you may see a little steam train go by?
I am a little worried that Greyqueen may have been put off by the politics of a few days ago - if you are reading, GQ, hope you are OK - we miss you and your [STRIKE]ramblings[/STRIKE] er deep and meaningful contributions.:D
In a blinding flash of realisation this morning I decided that food shopping didn't really involve much shopping as I lay in bed wondering where I was going to put it all as the fridge, freezer and cupboards are full to bursting. SO off I trotted to Mr M and just bought a few bits that we had run out of - it may involve a bit of a top-up midweek but better that than I end up chucking stuff.
<<sigh>> I keep trying to empty the freezer but it just magically fills itself again. Today I took out some fish pie mix (whoopsied) and some basics prawns to make fish pie (doh!), added frozen peas and corn but have still ended up with a portion left that takes up the space of what I've taken out more or less.
Tomorrow, I am off to a colleagues surprise party. It will be a relief as I have been trying to organise other colleagues to attend without said birthday boy becoming aware. At least I can relax afterwards about giving the game away. I am giving a lift to some colleagues so DD is cleaning the car - she wants to earn some money for a concert ticket. I haven't told her I've already bought the ticketI will make her pay though.
This lovely weather can stay, please. Have a good weekend all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I am at a clinic on Wednesday. I think this is just for an MRI as it is a doctors with one of those mobile MRI things outside. I think they refer you to the pain clinic up at the hospital. I bet I end up on steroid based meds just as I'm piling the weight on.
I really don't know how people live in constant pain. The people who give people a hard time on the benefits board should spend a couple of weeks in their shoes as no amount of money is worth suffering every day.
I decided to take a year off work as a rest (numerous reasons) I have had over a year and it looks like I won't be able to go back as I can't even get to the end of the drive

Doc (and Mrs Lurcherwalker), Bruno went to the Vetty Person today and had his staples removed. He has been given the all-clear so will be sniffing round the park in the morning in search of some fox-poo to roll in. It didn't hurt at all.
I have been watching Judge Judy on youtube. All I can think is that the people who appear on there must get their legal fees waived and can't afford to take their cases to a non-televised court! There are a few people I can think of who I would like to appear in front of her. David Ca-moron for one! :rotfl:Aspire not to have more but to be more.

I never really noticed buzzards until my DGD died suddenly a couple of years ago (aged 17). She is buried in a natural burial ground in Shropshire and the buzzards seemed to escort us when we first went there, they were there soaring high in the sky for her funeral, and seem to come out and greet us on just about every special occasion.
One day I plucked up the courage to mention it to my DD and she told me that DGD was always fascinated by buzzards, they dived bombed her in Italy once when she called to them in 'buzzard language'! DD said that she too had been seeing buzzards everywhere for the last couple of years.
Not sure it means anything, but they are absolutely beautiful and seem to bring me peace when I am sad.0 -

Thank you for sharing. I am truly touched by what you said and glad the birds bring you peace. xxx0
