Hello lovelies!
PIC I hope you get some relief from the back clinic. And to the others of you who are suffering, you have my sympathies and my admiration for how you manage to carry on. Mardatha does your gallstones complaint mean you can't eat chocolate ?
MrsLurcherWalker Bruno went to the vet yesterday and they have left the staples in for another few days, but it is healing nicely and soon he will be able to come back off his lead and roll in fox poo again. Does Doc like fox poo?
(Now I am wondering why I am so in love with an animal whose idea of a good time is rolling in fox poo! I think Bruno must have bewitched me somehow!! :rotfl:)

Waterstones, Sainsbury's and Matalan have pulled out of the Work Scheme so far :T due to negative public reaction. So demonstrating and writing angry letters do help. I'm glad it's a poke in the eye for this greedy government. I cannot tell you how my blood boils at what they are doing. They are punishing us for daring to be poor (I can include myself in that because I am in a 2-bed housing association house for which I need to claim HB for a few months each year so will be affected by changes in the regs. I just thank God I'm in my 40's now and not affected by the single room if you're 35 rules.)
I am feeling a tad low (nothing to write home about though) because I have so many ideas of how my Housing Association could help tenants (I'm on the tenants' panel) but I just don't have the energy to see them through. I would love to do something like KatieOwl and have basic cooking lessons, budgeting lessons, starting a food co-operative, maybe a supper club once or twice a week where folks can get a cheap but nourishing meal, a community allotment on derelict land near me, craft classes for teaching people how to make presents like sock monkeys, journal jars etc ..... All these things could really make a difference but I daren't start anything because I know I would struggle to see it through. I know from experience how quickly I run out of steam - I only have enough mental energy to run my own life, really, but I wish I had more!
Surely to heavens this lot won't get voted in again at the next general election?Aspire not to have more but to be more.

I thought Mrs Camerons family owned sainsbobs so does that mean her family do not agree with the policy ???0

I've no idea, PIC, but if it's true I'm sure the press will pick up on it. I hope so.
In the meantime, it looks like this http://eoin-clarke.blogspot.com/2012/02/we-can-now-reveal-what-really-happened.html isn't going to be picked up by the press, so perhaps we can spread it far and wide.Aspire not to have more but to be more.

I don't remember any of us voting them in last time! So much for democracy eh? But I guess we have to move on past that fiasco!
Your ideas sound fabulous. I'd be there like a shot if you were anywhere near me. One of the things that frustrates me about my little life is that I don't make a difference to anyone's life. My work is important to my company but that's all. If you or me or anyone else can see a way to make a difference whether that be with ideas or action or...whatever, then go for it.
I understand what you're saying about no energy except to survive yourself. I often feel like this, but is there anyway of linking up with people with the energy to carry your ideas forward?

Smiley, thats the same as me. I am so full of plans and ideas and I can't do any of them and that bugs !!
So pleased and proud of you all for speaking out for commonsense and compassion.0 -
They sound like magic ideas, Smiley. Maybe like Lavender says, there are people that could help? We have neighbourhood workers in our city, their job is to facilitate local people to do that sort of thing. Are your local councillors any good? I'm a councillor and most of what we do is acting as facilitators and advocates - so putting people in touch with other people would be right up that alley. Maybe you could write your local councillors a letter saying everything you've said here and asking for advice?Grocery challenge September 2022: £230.04/£200

I've put that link and the tesco link on my fb page - I don't think many people are aware of this programme so we should spread the word everywhere, fb twitter etc
eta I'm not a labour supporter but I can't support the govt cuts that are hurting so many vulnerable people, and will hurt many more before its finished... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Been mega busy today but wanted to pop in and send some hugs to everyone suffering.
Having read the article earlier its taken me some time to calm down but I still.find I am struggling to put into words my disgust, probably best if I don't comment until i can formulate my words in a manner suitable for public edification.0 -
Same here Rosie, not a labour voter but want the people to see what this lot are up to.0

I have posted this to Fac*book if nothing else it will be passed round there. Serious intimidation by hospital admin by the look of it!
PIC :- as a long term back pain sufferer I can only echo WCS, Don't wait for good day's (too few and far between) Do what you can on the day as it comes. Move/work for a while then rest awhile. Move position frequently and try to keep active in small bursts, Keep your brain going as best you can, it will help in case a 'black dog' jumps up and bites you! Pain is a b^gger! but it is not your whole life. That's the bit you don't let pain get! Big Hugs :grouphug:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0
