Hand Baggage -

Hi im flying on Emirates to NZ - except toiletries in clear bag which is clear on every website i've been on, what else can you take on as hand baggage

    That is all fine (as long as it fits into one hand luggage).

    There is still some grey areas between the airport and the airlines. My wife flew out with Continental from Gatwick to the US on business. We checked the Continental web site for wieght allowances and it stated that for flights from Europe (incl UK) you can take one piece of hand luggage and a laptop as an additional piece. When she got to checkin they said only 1 piece full stop as BAA rules override that of the airline??? Why - surely it's the airline carrying the laptop.

    It was no big deal as my wife put the laptop in her hand luggage and was let through, but it's worth noting!

    Its a security measure, BAA rules override airline rules.

    Also this clearly states only one item of hand baggage for UK departures:
