  • Home made version of the M&S raspberry panna cotta

Make up a raspberry jelly, add some frozen berries if you have some around and allow to set.
Make up some panna cotta - really easy,500ml milk, 500ml double cream, 100g caster sugar and some vanilla extract - warm in a pan until almost at boiling point, then stir in 6 presoaked leaves of gelatine
Allow to cool a little, then carefully pour layer on top of the jelly and allow to set!
Looks impressive in a glass bowl
  • Have four from Asda's finest - 1 christmas pudding, 1 choc and 2 sponge syrup type ones - will be enough for us as noone really has room for a dessert after our dinner.
  • Chocolate layer pudding is soooooo yummy and super easy, just make sure you make about 17 times as much as the recipe states - it's slightly addictive :o
  • Oh my goodness thank you all so much. This is fabulous - i think i will be trying out more than one of these now...i might have to do a few trial runs :) yum yum

    thanks again everyone :)
  • Its not particularly cheap, but our puddings on Christmas Day will be Christmas Pudding, which Mum makes. Trifle which one of the aunties make and Key Lime Pie which I'm making. I'm doing Double Malt Chocolate Cheesecake for New Year's Day. It always goes down a storm :)

Expect the worst, hope for the best, and take what comes!!:o
  • Hi i did find a recipe for PLum Christmas Pudding which has just 4 ingredients:
    2 cups(350g) self raising flour
    1 cup(220g) sugar
    1kg pkt mixed fruit
    1 Tbs bicarb of soda
Mix the first 3 ingredients in a big bowl.
Mix the bicarb of soda with 2 cups of hot water then add to the bowl and mix with a knife - then cover and leave overnite.
Mix again the next morning and place in a damp floured cloth and tie tightly. Boil it in a large saucepan for 3 hrs making sure it doesn come off the boil or boil dry.
Hope this helps although some of your ideas sound much more appetising and much simpler and less arduous :) thanks again,
    Moggy :)
