Any links???
LOL, sure, it looks like this:
The idea is that you 'sit' in a kneeling position which ergonomically adjusts your posture, thus reducing stress on the spine. Hope that helps.OGB - Queen of Bling baby...:A0 -

I have just been to see a cardiologist with suspected heart problems for chest pains and I'm only 27... Was VERY scarey... Hopefully on Thursday I will get the all clear and they will leave it with the only possibility being that its down to my back and 1 thing I will need to do is get a good chair for work for my desk. Any advice and 'support' (hehe) welcome!0

That Ikea chair sounds like a good interim solution, any item names on the bottom of the chair, or a piccy or description. My Ikea is ok, but I dread trying to describe this to a member of staff in case I just get a very blank look. Is it much the same as the original posture stool that everyone is talking about?
Sorry I can't be more specific, and it's 2 years old.
It's just a plastic garden chair, like you'd get at a pavement cafe, but slightly taller, and with a supportive back, and no gap across the middle. If they're still doing them, they'll be with outdoor furniture.
Edit: forgot to say that it's not at all like the posture stool.0 -
i have just had months of physio for a lower back problem and my physio suggested that i used a physio ball (pilates ball) to sit on ,as it encourages correct posture and you can use it to do back exercises aswell. make sure you get the right one for your height!
i use it all the time when sitting at the table or using my computer it has helped a lot. and cheaper than special chairs.:hello: :j0 -
The cheapest I've found so far is £41.11 including VAT but excluding £9.99 delivery from PCWorld Business. Not sure if they stock these in the business part of the store or whether they need to be ordered in.
Sigh. Hopefully, I'll just get that one MSE'r who will have a tip off of where to get one of these at a reasonable price. I'm not trying to be cheap, or skimp on something that is so important, but £50 right now, is £50 I don't have.
Thank you for the information about the Ikea chair. I think I'm going to try and track down the kneeling chair as first choice though.
Maybe I might get it cheaper over the Easter holidays when stores have 10/20% off weekends etc, but I'm in pain and don't think I can wait til then.
More help required from my fellow MSE's I think..... Pleeaasseee ...:DOGB - Queen of Bling baby...:A0 -

I know someone who does this too, having gone through a range of chairs before settling on this.......

I'm going to demand that the company I work for buy me a decent chair to help with my back/chest pains, so any links to the best chairs for my back, while working at my desk, would be appreciated!0 -
daughter and myself have serious back problems, i swear by an inversion table, daughter has physio come to home and she uses a pilates ball. Apparently sittingand slightly moving onn the ball strengthens the core muscles and help to support the spine. Have tried a chair but unfortunatley knees are very athiritic so its uncomfortable for me. Would deffo try the chair before you buy, have seen them come in to the ex catalogue shop now and again.:hello:What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -

They have the posture kneeling chairs on eBay too. SuperDrug have the Pilates balls on offer for £2.99 - they're wonderful to lie on, with one's back arched over them. G0
