Npower owe me - but want more money before refunding
Just checked my bills online, and Npower overcharged me by £130 last time, and my new bill of £146 as just arrived - and that £100 over (estimated).
No problem, i thought - i will give them correct readings as DD not due out until 8 december.
They tell me they cannot ammend the bill until 12th January - so i still have to pay the latest bill - which gives them £230 of my money for 5 weeks - money i could do with for christmas.
If i cancel my direct debit in protest - what can they do?

If you cancel dd payments you will loose DD discount for a start not sure about asking for being overcharged0

Yeah, thats just been dawning on me - they could move me to the standard tarif i suppose.
Just can't see where they get 5 weeks from to ammend a bill. Its nuts.
Think i will do company switch - they take around 6 weeks. That way they get punished, just after i get my cash back.0 -
if your dd is due within 14 days it will be at awaiting bacs on their systems, this will prevent the change.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Hi techspec,
You should be able to have an amended bill to correct this so I'm a little confused to why you were told you couldn’t?
If you send your account details to forumresponse@npower.com I'll get this arranged for you.
Best wishes
Adam
