I don't know what VGA means, stick with it as opposed to what alternative (so I know what to avoid).

    VGA(640 x 480 pixels) equalling 0.3 MegaPixel, running at 30 frames per second(30fps) as a minimum.

Ignore all the high MegaPixel claims and concentrate on the video streaming(calling) ability as above.

That is the minimum and preferred webcam specification for your particular PC.

Any higher and you'll get lower frame rates(jerky video).

zenmaster's webcam would probably cover it if he is happy with it.
I'm happy with it. It's a lot better than one a I had a few years back.

I would have considered this one though had I seen it as it claims to need no additional software.

OK, webcam's arrived. As I said before, I'm useless with techie stuff. I have already set up a Skype account in order to speak to my sister. I've just started to read the Logitech C110 webcam user guide and see that it recommends that as well as downloading the webcam software for this, that you download the "Logitech Vid HD" stuff too. I don't know whether I'm mis-understanding what it means, but it says on page 7 "Logitech Vid HD, video calling live over the internet takes only a few, easy steps, 1) install Logitech Vid HD. 2) Create an account. 3) Add a friend and make a video call". This seems to suggest to me that if I did all that, then it wouldn't be through Skype, so if I'm going to use Skype would I still need to download the "Logitech Vid HD"? I'm really confused, sorry :o.

Not at all. It's an extra package.

When I ran the install it found Skype and asked if I wanted to use the webcam with that. I confirmed it and that was that.

zenmaster, I just went to install the software and was given a couple of options and I don't know which one to choose. I went to "software downloads", prompted to select "choose os", then prompted to "select a file". The file options to download were "smart installer (6.7Mb)" or "full installer (136Mb)". I don't know which one to choose as there isn't an explanation of which is for what. I wondered if I chose the "full installer" it might download the extra Logitech Vid HD software that I don't want. Which did you select, please?
