Gas and electricity bill is £357 per month!

I just called up Eon to give them my meter readings and they told me our gas and electricity bill was going to be £357 a month. I'm in a 4 bed house - a listed builing with single glazing. There are 4 adults living here. We don't think we use excessive gas and electricity. The heating has been on this past month for about 3 hours a day. The guy from Eon was a bit shocked at how much our bill was. As was I. Before this this bills were £200 a month.
I realise prices have gone up but... Anyone else paying this much? Any idea why we're paying this much, or if something could be wrong?
Any comments appreciated!

200 a month is high let alone £357 are you in debt with them? Whats your usage?

I pay £115 a month not in debt though and I monitor my usage

How about some meter readings and dates? That would help. What is your usage in kWh?

How do you know that without any figures? Post your annual kWh usage and some proper advice can be given. But almost certainly what has happened is that you have not been supplying regular meter readings (at least every 3 months), your bills have been under-estimated, and now you have a massive catch up bill-hence your DD has soared to recover the arrears.

I also live in a 4 bed listed 350 year old house with no gas. My max monthly bill was £305 last Dec. Last year I installed secondary glazing which helps tremendously with condensation and of course heat loss through windows. I use about 21000 KHW per year.

Posting how much you pay is meaningless its like saying my car costs me £10 a week and I do 40 miles a week. My friend runs a car and it costs him £50 a week but he doesn't tell me he does 600 miles a week
