ntl - moving house problem - offers not carried over

i have moved house , phone was in my partners name (with 1/2 price line rental and 24/7 calls free)
i had broadband 10meg for £10.

i asked before i moved would these be carried over they said yes
and new policy means you have to merge both accounts in one name

so did this now they are saying that offer wont be carried over and im stuck on new contract for 12 months , well this is a lot of crap

as it would have been better for me to go with sky as i have it already and with out ntl offers its not worth it

i moved dec 21 , is there a cooling off period on contract?

we i moved 2 years ago i still got offers on broadband.
