I don't see why another DMP company would not take you on, I found Payplan OK. Just make sure you go for a free one.
As far as your overspend on presents goes you may have to just chalk it up as a bad experience but try not to do it again. I know that this is easier said than done, I bought my kids a play station portable each on credit card :o (plus games) when they came out.
Whatever you do make sure that the payments are at a level you can afford so that you don't struggle to meet them, and resist the urge to overspend.

  • Your plan should allow you an amount to put aside for presents / Christmas ...... what happened to this?

If you've not managed to put it away each month (I'm one of the worst "raiders" around so I know how hard it is), think about how you're going to manage next year so you've money to pay for Christmas.

The 1st year I really wanted to get on top of things, I paid into one of the voucher companies (guaranteed that your money is safe, paid monthly to a girl at work) and it really helped (note to self: think about doing it again next year!)

Good luck with getting something sorted with Payplan

  • I am just about to start with Payplan after CCCS stopped my DMP. I got into trouble with Payday loans which I initially took out for my daughter's wedding and they escalated cos I was borrowing more each month to cover the repayment. CCCS would not take it on and that scared the living daylights out of me - I have been paying this for a year and a half.

I realised how bloody stupid I was and went cap in hand to the National Debtline who sent me a pack to apply for Payplan. They are very sympathetic and helpful. Have to go through the hassle of changing banks again but I am very grateful and seriously will not do this again.

I am sure they will help you x :)

Jasperconran I'll let you know how I get on with them, The CCCS advisor did say I could carry on making the payments direct to the creditors and they probably wouldn't know any different, so do you think you can make the payments directly to yours?

Yes I am going to make payments direct, however, CCCS dont give you any details to make those payments. So ive got to get in touch with the creditors to get their banking details!! So they are gonna flipping find out:eek::eek:

I need to get a move on and do letters etc tommorow. I will ring my creditors (if im brave enough lol) but OH wont ring his. So will write to them. Will let you know how I get on!!
LBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(
