Ipod Equivalent

Hi

I am looking for a equivalent to a ipod (if this is possble) for my son for Christmas. Could anyone recommend anything? I am begruging paying the price they charge for a ipod ffor it to be broke in 6 months however as his sister has one he wants one that is like his sisters (he is 9). Have been looking at the Archos but really confused and dont really know what sort of quiality they are

Well,
I hit the local Cash Converters/Mr Money etc. Picked up mint condition Ipod Nano Gen 5 (with the camera) 16gb, £55.
There were plenty there - may be worth a look as once they have been reset on Itunes, just as good as when it came out the box.

I am going to BUMP this up because I would also like to know if anyone has used the Zen touch 2 and how it compares with the iPod touch (can't afford the iPod but the Zen touch is £79.99 for 8gb)

I've not used the zen touch 2 but I did have a creative mp3 player a long while ago and was very pleased with the quality.

The most like a ipod you will get is a samsung galaxy player 50 which you can get for under £100 and is roughly an android phone without the phone bits so you can download games etc.

Well I just had a look at the samsung galaxy player and the reviews of it are terrible, sorry don't mean to be awkward but don't think I would touch it! The Zen touch 2 doesn't have bad reviews and it is cheaper (also runs on android 2.2 not 2.1 like the galaxy does). But would be helpful if someone has actually got one and could comment on it.
