I'm more of a lurker than a poster here, but I just wanted to warn all ex-egg customers who have recently been forced to move to Barclaycard about some problems I've had with interest charges.
I always paid my egg card off in full every month. I've just got my first statement from Barclaycard and it had an interest charge on. I rang them up and the guy on the phone said I had been charged as I hadn't paid my October statement. I insisted I had, he said I hadn't, I had to keep asking him to check and he eventually saw that I had paid and refunded me the charge. My egg card (which I never had a problem with in over 10 years of use) was always paid around the 3rd of the month which was around the time the accounts switched to Barclaycard.
I'd urge anyone who has been forced to use this new card to check your statements carefully. I left Barclaycard years ago as I was fed up of all their charges, I think I'm about to leave them again...
