My lot have dry out all day (mix of Taste of the Wild, Hills chicken, Hills Oral Care, Hills Hairball Control, Bozita Beef, Orijen and... Go Cat - they love Go Cat as some people love Mc DOnalds but as it is all mixed.. fine) and water out all day, changed (water) 3-4 times per day as clumps of ara's hair get into it.

George prefers dry only, Teddy is not bothered has both dry and wet, Fred will NEVER touch dry food EVER, baby Macis only wants dry food so... complicated.

Before baby Macius arrived here, I would give 1 tin 400gram between my 3 each day - bigger portion for Fred as he does not top up with dry....

I get them Classic from Pets at Home, they like it so we stick with it.

Tried Animonda and Smila - they were simply not interested.

Today auntie Sheila brought them some cans of Bozita - Teddy and Fred gobbled a whole tin between them 2 as George and Macius were not interested. Will see if the still like it tomorrow.

Very difficult to judge how much I feed them as dry gets topped out constantly but 1 tin per day between them of wet food seems to be fine...

Mine get a pouch each morning and night, and biscuits available all the time. We mix the biscuits with various brands, usually adding them to go cat as they love that and gives them more interesting flavours to go at by having a mixture.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

One pouch of feline fayre, 3 times a day, split between 2 cats
Go cat biscuits - handful twice a day

Finally got boy cat clearing his dishes, girl cat eating wet food properly and boy cat stopped having sicky episodes.

Worked out that I can feed them for a month and get cat litter for just under £30 now.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Merlot - 6/8 pouches a day? and they eat all that? holy cow...

Looks like 2 pouches a day and a bowl of dried food is not excessive!

One question nobody has commented on from my original post, is it likely they are responding to the colder weather by wanting more food? Seems likely to me, fattening up for winter. But should I provide it and cut back a bit in spring?

3-4 pouches each is actually the recommended amount assuming no other food given. Yes they eat more in winter and cats tend to eat less in summer. No need to control it just give the cat whatever they want unless the cat is noticeably getting overweight. My cat is now actually finishing 400 gram tins off in about a day and a half but then she is small at only 2.3kg. Summer I tend to bin a small amount of the tin as she can't or won't finish it. Cheaper than pouches though even though some is being binned.

To stop any winter weight getting excessive in Lily I got a few interactive toys which keep her fitter. In fact the long play tunnel is used so much over winter that she went from a large to medium cat in respect of worm drops 2 years ago and remains at medium lol.

OK, so I've weighed them now. Hilda is 3.7KG and Horace is 4.5KG. They are 18months old, so fully grown, so I'm going to carry on feeding them the same as now and weigh them every month for a while to see if they are gaining.

Was asked to look after the 2 cats over the road for a couple of days. They only eat a bowl of dried food a day each. Big contrast to our pair!

my 2 are abit fat to be honest

they get 1.5 pouches of wet food a day - usually whiskas of some kind
and they have free access to dry but i dont see them eating loads of it.

i think i need to get them running around abit more!

I don't think that sounds excessive, cats come in all shapes and sizes just like us!

Lily at 5kg may sound like she's fat but that's her shape, she is very long and tall. Not like my aunties cats who are tiny little things lol and if they weighed 5kg I doubt they could walk ;)
