Vauxhall Combo coolant leak? Overheating
My mae is doing some building work for us, and his 1.7 Vauxhall Cmbo van is losing coolant, but no sign of leaks or puddles. Have taken the oil filler cap off, and there is no sign of water contamination in the oil, no white smoke out the back either.
Unfortunately, he has been running the coolant system on pure water for the past couple of years, no coolant whatsoever. He has also removed the thermostat:eek:
Is it possible there is a block in the system?
Where is the water going?
Is it possible it is evaporating and leaving via the expansion tank cap?
Any ideas folks?

have you dipped the oil to see if its registring above the max mark on the dipstick, if it is thats where the waters going , possible headgasket failure.0

If its not leaking externally it must be going internally, Mixing with the oil or throught the combustion chambers.
No antifreeze after last winte?? I bet the blocks got more cracks than a yard full of crazy paving.
If the pressure is building up it could be pushed out the radiator cap. With teh cap off does the coolant
