Friday 25th November What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today??!!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Morning everyone!

Payday, yippee! Only problem is... money goes in, money runs straight back out again! Thankfully now budget sorted so at least money is going to the right things!

Today I have/will:
Check banks
Check CC
Check TCB
Check Paypal
Send another Ebay invoice reminder - grr
Submit missing cashback claim
Transfer money to various pots
Pay money off CCs
2lts water - Must Do This
Update calorie tracker from yesterday
Take cash out for the month - last couple of months I've been using cards, don't think it works as well as when I can see the cold, hard cash dwindling! Take out enough for works Christmas lunch and posh dinner drinks and put to one side!
Go out tonight - meal paid for in advance, so just drinks to buy
Breakfast/lunch from stores
Work hard!

Right, I best start getting ready for work!

Morning KJP, thanks for starting us.

    Morning to all who follow,

It's Friday, yay! Not quite payday for me (have to wait until Monday) but there is the good news of overtime for my OH this weekend, lots of overtime in fact, so should generate a few extra hundred quid to sort out the recent overspend (good timing, eh! :)), although this does mean this weekend will be spent doing all the housework & going to bed very early :( But hey, it keeps me out of trouble I guess...

    Today's plan:-

    • [strike]Food from stores[/strike]
    • [strike]Charge phone at work[/strike]
    • [strike]Make use of free water/milk at work[/strike]
    • [strike]Stay in for most of my lunchbreak to avoid spending, need to do a couple of bits though[/strike]
    • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Dinner from meal plan[/STRIKE]
    • Check online banking
    • [STRIKE]Check out this weeks flylady thread & do something[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Try & keep the heating on low[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Use free washing up liquid[/STRIKE]
    • Arrange return of bolero, they took the dress yesterday but said I needed to arrange the courier for that...
    • Package up some New Look items to return as well
    • Pop to Mr T's on my lunchbreak & get some veg for the weekend - Changed my mind, will go tomorrow to the big one & do a proper shop as we're running low on a few things
    • [STRIKE]OH hopefully doing 4 hours overtime tonight[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Washing on eco setting[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Hang up to dry[/STRIKE]
Have a great, MSE day everyone x

Morning all! Been lurking on here for a while, think it's time to post.

    Today I will/have:
    - HM fruit loaf toasted for breakfast
    - HM ciabatta roll veggie pizza for tea (using YS ciabatta that's been lurking in freezer a while and using veg up before it goes past its best so I won't have to throw away)
    - pay some of my catalogue debt (can't afford to pay much as got a lower wage this month:()
    - cook some curry/stirfry to freeze tonight (using veg up as above)
    - early night to watch tv in bed curled up with cats :) (save on heating/electricity)

    Have a good day xxx

This is much better than yesterday, I love it when the thread is alive & kicking, & when we have new posters join us! Welcome :)

Happy Birthday DNMS! _party_ Glad you're having a great birthday, what a fantastic gift from your OH! How great of your friends to support your minimalism, & in such a useful way too. Congrats to your DD on the job interview, fingers crossed it will lead to more, & that's really wonderful news about your brother - it makes me think I should try doing something about 1 of my sisters but then I don't know if it's any use! I agree if I'm not out & about I get a bit sad just pottering about the house by myself! I'll have to work out a plan to keep myself busy too.

La Escocesa - Ooh good luck! I hope you get to make it all official very, very soon :)
NTBY - Oh I do like your thinking, I will have to crack out the book I started reading on holiday & haven't managed to finish :o I need more hours in the day! (Or just less at work ;)) Glad you enjoyed dinner last night, I'd like to experience a proper Thanksgiving dinner so maybe I should put that on a future 101 list! Enjoy your weekend.
Janey - Hope you manage to get your tooth sorted for free, he's obviously not doing a very good job if it's broken again! Either that or you're attacking the toffee too mch :p
