Just to add that Aldi have their winter screenwash in again. No big deal I know but its amazing stuff. Neat it will go down to -60c , half and half down to -20c.

Got a bag of the Lidl salt grit, doesn't seem to have much grit in it so could be mixed with a small bag of coarse sand to make it go further.

It might be, but the post you responded to said mix it with coarse sand, not salt. Mind you, I can't imagine spreading sugar on your drive would much good for getting rid of ice and providing traction anyway.0
