Confused on iPhone/iPods etc and if they need you to have a computer

Options
Hi, I have an iPod touch which I connect to my laptop for transfers.

I have an old laptop (barely working) and that's connected up to my original iPod which I still uses

Which leaves my dads laptop but mums iPod and dads iPod.!

We can not find a way to run both iPods from the same computer, dada convinced you can run 2 iPods from the same computer but has spent 2 years trying and mum still has the same few songs on her iPod.

Mum might be getting an iPhone when she next upgrades, she's excited because she can have music on it which is my question.

Can you run multiple iproducts from the same computer with different content on each one.

Do you need a computer to put pictures, music etc on your iPhone and could you run 2 people's iPhones from the same computer?

  • Hello,

Yes you can run a number of iPod/iPhone/iPad etc accounts on the same iTunes. When you connect your device to your computer it should load up in iTunes as whatever you have names your device as. Then you log into your personal iTunes account through there.

To be able to put music and data to and from the one computer with multipal devices, you must have all the data (as in music, photos etc) already on the computer. This is to stop music copying over to devices which having paid for it. (example - me going over to a friends house with my iPod and putting all his music on my iPod when I havn't paid for it)

If you have an iTunes Cloud account, you can log into your iTunes account on a computer and your data will appear there for you to store and transfer to your device.

    Hope this helps :)
