I have just been given a moses basket as I have a daughter due in March. I'm a first time Mum and therefore am wondering which brands of mattress you have found best as hopefully better mattress will translate to more sleep!! :rotfl:

I wouldn't worry too much about your moses basket mattress, baby won't be in the basket for long enough and most mattress' for moses baskets are very similar. I'd more worry about it when buying a mattress for your cot or cot bed as they're a lot bigger and will be in it a lot longer.
Most people on here say Kiddicare are the best for mattress' the link below will take you to the ones for moses baskets and you can decide for yourself.

As Gilly said, the range of moses basket mattresses is pretty limited. I have also never heard of a mum who said that their baby slept better in their moses basket once they changed the mattress. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0

Things like heating the mattress up with a hot water bottle before baby gets in, having something of yours in the basket, a tshirt, breast pad etc, may help baby settle better though, if that's any help
