Cleaning Upvc Windows

I recently had Upvc windows fitted. The trim around the windows have been attached by a resin type glue some off which has run onto the window frame. Can anyone please advise on a product to remove this glue without damaging the window.

Thank you

Your best bet is to phone the company that fitted the windows. They would be the best to advise you how to clean this as they know what glue they used.

I normally fit trims with silicone. This doesn't sound the same.

They normally clean upvc with some sort of solvent, so you best bet seeing as they are new as Rex said. You cna get upvc cleaner I got my last lot from Screwfix it aint bad and does the job.

Whatever you do, don't waste your money on buying upvc cleaner. I've been in the glass trade for over 20 years. Jif (cif) is the best stuff for cleaning upvc. A light rub with this and a bit of water will bring the frames up as white as new.

A lot of companies sell a cream type cleaner for upvc. All this is, is a form of jif, at twice the price.

Jif does clean it, I have used it myself but I prefer the spray cleaner for some places. Sills are good with jif

This is a great one for vinyl on cars. Works a treat. I love the smell too!

    try turps/white spirit
  • I've found White Spirit is OK, but dosen't really deal with really grubby exteriors.
