Hi, can anyone help? I had an egg card (probably registered over 10 years ago) and closed it in March 2005. I defo had PPI and didnt ask for it (registered online and Im guessing there was pre ticked boxes). I contacted EGG to get details of my account as I no longer have them and they put me onto Barclaycard. Do you think its worth me persueing Barclaycard for this or have I left it to long?? Barclaycard need me to write a letter to them to get detail.s

Hi there
Give it a shot with your reasons and even though the complaint is about EGG, you write to Barclaycard head office or complaints, and make them aware its EGG.
Have you tried calling into a local branch for any details, by giving them as many details as you can remember on your account, also address, old addresses, and so on you may have lived in when you taken out the account.
Did they actually mean Barclaycard want you to try to get hold of details from EGG?
A credit report will hold details of the last 6 years, so if it closed within this time, maybe they still hold the details of EGG, so that maybe worth a shot and you can I assume request for a credit report online, but check it out first, normally the cost of a full credit report is £2, some will offer this free for 30 days, but do check first.
Google in Experian, or Equifax, or "Credit Reports" see what options you have.
Hope this helps, good luck.
Many have still been successful on older cases, so no harm in trying. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
