Transfer OD to CC

Options
Morning all,

I have just applied and been accepted for a £3000 limit on morgan stanley buy and fly card. During the application i put my current account debit card number on the online application for a BT of £3000 which went through hunky dory.

Having just got off the phone with them (they phoned me) I asked the CS lady if it was OK to transfer OD to which she replied no.

Having put my foot in it a bit, maybe I should have kept schtum, how do I now move the debt from the OD to the CC @ 0%. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Pimple.

BTW, I have several other empty (bal = £0) credit card accounts still open if anyone thinks these may be of use.

Get an egg money card that allows super balance transfers
Then read the thousands of threads on the subject that explains how to do it.

If you have egg green and not on promotion you may be able to do it through that without paying multiple fees.
  • sorry for not reading the thousands of threads....panicked a bit.....many thanks for the replies.
  • Any MBNA group card will be ok for this, just ask them to transfer funds to your bank, no problems at all. (MBNA = ABBEY, A&L, VIRGIN, MBNA)

Yeah, I did this with virgin no probs
  • Thanks for the further posts, I have an old virgin account that is dormant and may use this. Do they have a charge for this...I don't want to be stung twice. Sorry in advance if this is an ignorant question, I can't get into their terms on the website for current account holders. Seems they charge 2.5% for new customers though (13mths @0%). As I understand egg money has no BT fee.

Virgin were writing to existing customers last year, to change the fees to 3% (max £75). You need to check any notice of variation you have been sent to see what your personal fee is. Alternatively, if you call Virgin they may have it marked on your account.

    Correct.

There may be another way though...if you previously managed your Virgin account well, and if you 'threaten to close', you may be offered a 6/9 month 0% deal. Just try to negotiate on the fee.
