  • Hi Mike, and welcome to old-style.
I'd say you're already taking steps in the right direction by keeping track of when you spend. Maybe you could aim to reduce the budget by £10 a month - small steps are the best way!
Perhaps planning a little more would get rid of the need to use (expensive) convenience stores.
    Good luck!

  • I'm going to do my first monthly challenge! It's just me to cook for, so I'm hoping for less than £80 a month. Fingers crossed and mind concentrated!
  • Is it ok to join but my budget is for grocery and all other expenses example petrol & clothing. I will be keeping a total of my grocery spends so next month I can just do this for groceries only.

    Budget from 01.02.07 to 28.02.07 £376.00 (2 adults and 1 22mth old)

Count me in, fallen off the o/s wagon a bit, but hubbie changing job, more per hour but less hours! So will mean less money at the end of the month.

But at least the children might get to met their father!

Anyhow, freezer is full, and was good and stuck to my list this week, only spent £16.23!! Went on the bus, and came home on the bus-no taxi so I had to stick to the list as I had to carry it-plus saved £4.00 on taxi!

But got a cold and on a diet-but will have to adapt what I have in.
    April Grocery challange £175

    Spent week 1 £29.90
    week 2 £62.64, TOTAL £92.54

    Hi there
Well done to everyone so far :T

I'm in again this month. 4th one so you'd think I'd have got the hang of it by now but I overspent last month due to "fed up so lets go out for dinner" :o I won't be making that mistake again.

I am dropping the budget again this month so £300 for 2 adults 2 children and a dog. I am dropping it slowly as this seems easier for us. Am also monthly meal planning and online shopping 2 out of 3 having dropped from 4 shops. This seems to work for us too so I'll will continue doing it.

Should only need to shop for some packed lunch bits, bread, milk and top up fruit & veg having done a months shopping according to my meal plan:rotfl:

    Budget £300
    1st Week £120

Went slightly over last month (budget = £200, total £216.55 ), but I did do a big meat shop at the end of the month for this month. Also this time last year I spent nearly £500 (and I was living on my own then!!) and I usually spend £350+ a month so very happy I've managed to get it down!!!

    Good luck everyone xx
