Flexible Working - with Kiddies at home?!?
Comments

I work from home but travel to see clients most days, I could not do my job and look after a child at the same time especially a new baby, I can recall days when I didn't get chance to get dressed till tea time when my children were little.0

The strange thing is that for me, it's actually become more difficult to work from home now the kids are older (eight and twelve) than when they were pre-school. When they were little, they'd have long naps, and head off to bed earlier, so I had time in the day or in the evening. And since I knew I couldn't work with them around, I paid for a few days childcare during the week.
Now they are older, they are at school so I get a few hours quiet then, but I seem to spend so much time doing the school run, sorting out stuff they need for school and homework, picking them up and organising lifts to town, friends come round for sleepovers and won't go home again, or even when we have a quiet day at home they randomly turn up in my office asking for snacks, or to find something they've lost, or to tell me something they think will amuse me - it seems much more difficult sometimes to concentrate.0 -
Any risks and practicalities are between the employer and employee. Nobody on here knows exactly what is planned so it's all guess work.
You're probably right. Nothing to do with the kid at all. Maybe if she resumes work early enough it will still fit in a box under the table... RESULT! :rotfl:DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244
