We had a thread on here last week complaining that their lodger didn't flush the loo! Not sure if it was during the night or not though. Funny ol' world...

Out of interest, is your lodger drinking heavily? Several pints in the pm/eve might well have him weeing for Britain!

Unfortunately, people can change drastically over several years. His lifestyle is obviously very different from yours, and I really can't see how him being a lodger with you can work long term.

Three months for a pay cheque?! Can't see that happening... sorry. It's not sounding great, but then I am a bit of a 'pessimistic realist'!

7 times between midnight and 2am when he finally went to bed?

7 times in 2 hours? I'd say he needs to lay off the beer and/or coffee.

If those aren't the cause he might do well to consult a doctor - unless he's consuming diuretics or vast quantities of fluids that sort of frequency doesn't sound healthy at all.

Was just going to mention that! OP needs to swap lodgers with the OP on the other thread!

Wow, you must be tired. I said 'totally reasonable to ask him not to'. I'm on your side dude!

Sorry Peater. I just re-read your post and saw I'd misread it.

Only one flush last night (when lodger came in at 1am) so I'm a bit more clear headed today. LOL!

Thanks for the heads-up on that Hoof Hearted.

We've known this guy a long time and he's in his late-40s so, although he's being annoying at the moment we do care about him.

I told him I've had myself checked for diabetes due to my lavish use of the loo if I drink too much coffee/beer in the evening but he didn't take the hint...I'll try again methinks.

He's a tee-totaller and doesn't drink tea or coffee but loves fruit-juice drinks.

Thinking about it, his diet is heavy on sugars.

    1) he needs a doctor
    2) if he doesn't moderate the noise you'll have to evict
    3) can't think of 3
  • Told a friend of mine to go in the sink if he needed the loo in the night. He then called out that he needed some paper.....

OH and I have an ensuite. The rule in the night (aka at any point the other one is sleeping) is:

If it's yellow, let it mellow.

If it's brown, go and do it in the main bathroom and don't stink me out! (and flush, of course).

Means that if you wake up at 2.30 and need a wee it's only 10 steps there and back (for me, OH has the bed to negotiate) and so can do it half asleep, but if not, you're not totally waking the other person.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all
