I believe free 1571 is soon to be discontinued and will be chargeable if we dont use BT for calls. ? Does anyone have any further news on this?

£1/month charged from 1/5/07.
You can avoid the charge if you make 2 calls/month (or 6/quarter if you get billed quarterly) via BT.0 -

1571 is one of my pet hates I'm afraid. HERE's why.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
