I am soon to buy a new Dell PC. Haven't quite decided which one yet but I would like an all-in-one-printer too that also scans etc. Do I buy the Dell one or go elsewhere? I don't want a printer that comes with expensive print cartridges!

Answered your own question!!
Id go with an epson to be honest, because genuine cartridges are cheaper than HP and Canon due to not including a head.
Copys are easy to find and only about 5-6 pounds a set for like the photo versions.
Dell printers may be cheap to buy but they make their money from the cartridges and copies are hard to come accross.0 -
or what you can do depends where you buy pc from tell them u want all one printer and what deal are they gonna give you i know in pc world if you do this they rather give printer half price or take about £20 - £30 off depending what printer you getHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I have a Dell Printer and have bought spare ink cartridges easily enough, a good £10 - £15 cheaper than Dell's own brand, although I haven't tried them yet as it's a backup printer.
One important thing to note when you're buying from Dell - they make so much money on upgrades so DON'T get extra memory, etc. from them as you'll waste so much money. Check out the price of memory at https://www.crucial.com/uk or similar places, and compare the prices of upgraded graphics cards/office software etc. with other stores online0 -
I bought a DELL printer and it was pants. Do yourself a favour get an Epson, I use DX4800"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

NO! So-called Dell printers are in fact rebranded Lexmarks - the cartridges will cost more than the printer is worth. Cheaper ones are more difficult to come by than Epsons and Canons - I suspect that it's probably because they have the print nozzles built in and are not designed to last for more than one use!0

Ive been looking at the Canon MP600. It seems to have good print quality and will also print onto cds. It has separate ink cartridges for each colour. Does this make it cheaper because you are only buying the colour you have run out of?0

I had one of the Dell 720 printers, ok, it was only £10, but it wasn't worth it. The cartridges were around £25 a go to.
So I took up epson on their deal at the time a colour printer/copier/scanner for £60, if you traded in an older working printer.
Its been fine, photo quality is reasonable etc etc but the carts are dirt cheap because each colour is a seperate cartridge (so you needn't throw a whole cartridge because 1 colour is out.
Asda had some last night retailing at £80 IIRC but you can still go to an epson service centre and trade in your old printer to get a better one. You get £30 back at presentThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
