If you've every come across Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (American but you can get them in Asda), if you like peanut butter, and if you want more calories in one bite than your entire daily allowance... Here's Nigella's version.

    Mix up:

    50 gms brown sugar
    200 gms icing sugar
    50 gms butter
    200 gms smooth peanut butter

Press into lined baking tray. Melt 300 gms chocolate of your choice and a tablespoon of butter and spread over. Chill. Cut into squares.

You might need a couple of bites to get your taste buds used to it - you'll love it or hate it. If you love it, say good bye to your waist line!

    Hi Mardatha,

I hope you managed to satisfy your craving. ;) There are some good ideas on this thread so I've added it to the main Old Style homemade sweets thread to keep the recipes together.

WOW...Condensed milk is is actually from heaven :heart2:

I bought some in a squeezy tube a month or so ago, meaning to make coconut macaroons, but it never got that far, cause everytime I went into the kitchen I squeezed some into my mouth :p . I swear I finished it off in about 5hours, I had such a sugar rush, I had a headache all night.

I personally ban myself from buying Consensed milk & Nuttela, cause I am a disgusting pig where they are concerned

  • Just read this post and thought I might add that Asda have 100 tiny little cake cases for 65p, just great for all the 'little mouthfull' sweets. Just great when your giving them as a gift.
  • i love tablet and would love to make it at home. never done it -

there has to be a foolproof recipe out there, dont want to buy the ingredients and waste them as they are expensive .

also any recipes tryed and tested for making other little sweets, easy ones that taste and look good.

i would like to make them for presents . oh and for eating :o

    thanks in advance

    xx
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!

    Hi dora,

There's an earlier thread with lots of recipes and links for making sweets that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.

For making tablet these threads may help:
