HELP with vcr/dvd player

Hi
My daughters vcr/dvd combo has worked fine for 11 months and now there is no sound - she said the vcr and tv (when played thro' vcr) was silent then the dvd followed suit. I told her to check the connections and try 'real' discs and tapes, but it still does not work. She has got the receipt and intends to take it back on sunday - just wondered if anyone had any other ideas as to the prob. Also any ideas as to how long Currys take to mend items?

hi...have you tried going to the set-up mode on remote ?....try resetting !0
